Alex the Ring Bearer

We had a surprise wedding while we were at the beach. Karla and Mitchell (Kelly's mom and her mom's boyfriend...Kelly is my (DeeDee's) sister-in-law) have been together for 9 years and decided to tie the knot while we were on our family vacation. It turned out to be perfect. We always rent the largest house (9 bedrooms) that we can find when we go to the beach, so the house was great for a wedding. Alex got to bring the rings to them on a cute little pillow. This was his first time being in a wedding.

Picture below: The newlyweds are second from the left. Mitchell's daughter (Aysa) is the first one on the left and her boyfriend (Peter) is above her. Karla's daughters (Kelly and Kristy) are to the right. My brother (Dusty) is above Kelly and Kristy's boyfriend (Matthew) is to the far right. Katie, Kelly and Kristy's other sister, could not make it down for the wedding because of her work schedule.:(
This was our view from the 3rd floor of the house. The pool was wonderful. It had 2 swim up bars and the bars had plasma tv sets so that we could watch football all day. This was one of the tables set for dinner at the reception.

1st Beach Trip!

We took our annual family vacation to the beach in September and Alex loved it. He wasn't thrilled when the waves came up and hit him in the face, but we couldn't get him out of the sand. He wanted us to bury him in it and then he didn't want to get out. He loved building sand castles with Uncle Dusty and Kristy. He also loved chasing the birds. He tried so hard to pet one, but they were just too fast for him.

Roll Tide!

We took Alex to his first Alabama football game. He was interested in the actual game for about 30 seconds, but he couldn't get enough of Big Al and the Million Dollar Band. He also enjoyed to doing the wave. Uncle Bart gave him the #8 jersey. Alex loves the jersey and tells everyone that Julio wears the #8.

Trip to the lake

We took one last trip to Rick's lake house before the end of the summer. Alex loves the lake and had a great weekend. All of our friends adore Alex and it is nice to be able to include him in our outings!

Alex rode on the tube with Mama. He was a little scared at first, but then he started to enjoy it.
Kate and Alex had water gun fight.
Alex decided to try out golf.
All of the girls...and Alex. Alex is flying on Candice's feet.
He made a slide out of the float.
Kate gave Alex a bubble gun and he loved it.
Alex found him a little girlfriend.

August at the Park

I am finally catching up on adding some pictures of our past few months to the blog. I will start in August when we took Alex over to see Grandma Su Su in Atlanta. On the way we stopped at the playground to play with some friends (Brian, Candice and their son Jay).

We love videos!

Alex already wants to be just like his Papa. He says, "Strong like Papa" and then I say, "You mean strong like Mama?" He says, "No, like PAPA." The latest thing is that he found a tattoo in one of his food boxes and he wanted it "just like Papa's".

For Father's Day, Alex "hand" painted some stuff for Papa, Poppy, and Bob-O. The first thing we did was paint the entire frame black to cover up the cheesy stuff that was written on the frame when I bought it. Once we finished doing that, we got Alex's hands dirty with all kinds of paint. He loved it and he followed directions very well. He should do great in school. Below is a video of him looking at his masterpiece.

Alex has learned to count to ten. He has to count the stairs every time that he goes up. Now he is working on counting to twenty.

Alex loves to sing and his new favorite song is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. He wants to sing it and then he wants you to sing it. After I got finished singing it the other day, he said "Good job Mama". It cracks me up that he says things that we say. He is soaking everything in and spitting it out like a little parrot. We have to make sure we watch what we say at all times. (Zoe looks thrilled with Alex's singing...)

More videos of our little bundle of joy!

Alex loves to jump on the bed. He sleeps in a "big boy bed" already and we are so glad that we didn't have to buy a baby bed. He has a day bed, but he sleeps on the trundle bed that comes out underneath it b/c if he falls off, he won't have too far to fall before hitting the floor. He has fallen off a few times, so I am going to keep him on the trundle until he gets used to a big bed.

Alex loves to eat and he actually likes foods that are healthy. Hopefully he will continue to eat this way. See the video of him eating his dinner tonight... By the way, the bib that he is wearing is great for all of you mothers-to-be out there. You can get them at Wal-Mart or most other stores. I like it better than most bibs b/c it has a large pocket at the bottom where it catches all of his dropped food.

Alex loves to go on walks before dinner. Our goal is to do this every night. Most of the time Alex walks Zoe which is really funny b/c Zoe is bigger than Alex. Zoe is such a good sport and walks right next to Alex the entire time. Every time we pass people on our walk, Alex says hello to them. He is a very friendly little fella. Everyone seems to get a kick out of Alex walking Zoe b/c it just looks so cute. I added a video of the walk we had tonight...

Videos of Alex

We have been very bad about taking videos of Alex, so I got out the camera this morning and got a couple of cute ones. Last night we went to Alex's first wedding. (Candice and Brad Burton) He sat through the 45 minute service and was very quiet. He would even tell Mama and Papa to shhhhh every once and while. At the reception, we all had such a great time, but Alex had the best time. They had a great band and he danced all night. We didn't leave until about 11pm when the bride and groom left. I wish I would have had my camera b/c they brought him up on stage to sing with the band. He didn't do much singing, but he sure loved it up on stage and didn't want to come down. He even got to say Roll Tide in the microphone. He has always loved music, but there is nothing like a live band. A few people got pictures and if they send them to me then I will post them. I hope you like the videos!
